I ever heard this opinion from one of my friend who said,"...one can't change government, alone or together,even the powerful must know there place or be eliminated, by what's ever most appropriate for the situation, hence the common folk of a nation, stand even less of a chance, we've made ourselves weak in our home land and now we want to save the world around us, to late we've discovered a sad fact of life, accept everything and eventually, everythingbecomes acceptable, most of all, the unacceptable,itself . . ."
I think beside the corruption, two other major problems facing the world today are ignorance and stupidity. Even though people are fooling, they still consider themselves wise people. People do not think twice these days. Everything is one way and that I think is the major problem facing the world today. People must begin thinking and reasoning as human beings if we want this world to be a better place. You are telling people to stop smoking but you are a smoker yourself. Doctors who teach people about the harmful effects of cigarettes are the same people smoking 2 and 3 packs a day.
And i also believe nowadays people like to give their opinions without listening to others. I must admit i do fall into this occasionally. It's like those people that like hearing themselves talk but when it's their turn to listen they switch off. Everyone's trying to convince everyone else that their right.
So, all of us as citizens of the world, what is the single most important thing we can do to improve society? Who knows if we all take a little simple thing efforts upon ourselves to focus on one thing, it might create a cascading effect and society might be better for it. Generally, I think before improve the whole system of the world, first we need improve ourselves. Be brave and subversive model for others in an appropriate, non violent way.More often than not we blame our neighbor, our state, our leaders for all the ills around us. But if we can only make a little improvement to our own lives we can further the cause by a step. If we can only take this attitude into the outside world and follow each others examples, the world would be better for it. Just a small deed from each other would collectively make for a better world. It could be something as simple as picking up a piece of litter and throwing it into a trash can.
And here are my thought for the rest:
1. To reduce the selflessness and stop being ignorance. To learn how to co-exist. Without tolerance for one another there can be no peace. Intolerance brings war, fear, and disunity. By learning to accept each others' limitations and take that extra step to love one another, then this world will be a better place for all.
2. Starting to educate children and people near you. It has been proven over and over again that education is the key out of poverty as well as enlightening on things that might form prejudices in the less educated mind. We can give people stuff, money, house but education is truly something that no one can lose or have taken away.
3. Of course, not standing for corruption is very important.Stronger law enforcement. This actually is under the control of the government to implement, but we sure can remind each other to obey the law.
4. To stop all the necessary hate that plagues the world, once we learn to love people for who they are and not try to change that, the world will be a better place.
5. Save the environment by doing a bit in recycling.
6. Stop hurting and harming others. If everybody will feel like this then there wouldn't be any thefts,attacks,wars & the society will be free from many types of social problems.Everywhere there would be a friendly atmosphere.
7. To be helpful to all. We all are so much engrossed in money making and within our family lives that we forget the basic concept of society formation.
8. To help the poor and needy.A lot of us are fortunate and live comfortable, but there are lots of people out there who are struggling in life and needs our help greatly. We can just start with ourselves and lend a helping hand to those in need. If everyone do so, the society will be more gracious and caring and it'll make it a better place for us to live in.
9. Creating equal opportunity for all, which includes equal access to education and work opportunities. If everyone is given the same chance to succeed then I think this will have a positive impact on society.
10. We all want to be a part of our clubs, our cliches, our inner circles. But whatever happened to being a part of our country? So, do our best as the citizen of our country...a citizen of the world.
I don't understand why we treat us each other badly and poorly. We are not that different, inside we are all the same. We should not be judged by our religion or the color of our face, because in the end, we're all running this same race. If we all stop this madness and never forget that in God's eyes,we are all the same:)
