New Year's Resolution.....Apaan Tuh?????
Every new year people make resolutions to change aspects of themselves. They believe are negative. A majority of people revert back to how they were before and feel like failures.
Most people who make resolutions do so without actually really thinking it through. They say things like wanting to lose weight and its not a real goal or something they truly aspire to. With the long string of broken promises and unmet resolutions made on new years day I have found myself very much against the idea.
I wonder what the point is. I think that I should goals to improve myself everyday, not at just the start of the year. I never write them down and they're usually just the same things I've been meaning to do anyway. Just because I decide to say them at the beginning of the year doesn't make me any more likely to complete them sooner. I will accomplish them at the same time I would even without the New Year.
I find that if force myself to make goals, I'm less likely to follow through than if I am inspired to do it. Inspiration comes when it comes. I'm not going to look for things that need to change in my life. I don't define phases in my life by the societal ways of telling time, that just doesn't make sense.
If people ask me how 2009 was, I have to go into a well... the first 2/3 was the best year of my life, then the last third was absolutely terrible. The time frame of a year just doesn't fit my personal phases, and resolutions are like beginnings of phases.
Moreover, I also think a New Years resolution is something temporary. Guess if I need to make a change in my life I am going to do it now and not wait a moment longer. I prefer to make straight up and instant commitment to myself. No putting something off until the new year to do it. Nor anything that would only last for that one year. If I wait all that's going to happen is I am going to come up with an excuse to wait a little longer.
So friends, This year I challenge you all to a new resolution ala Vie:) I challenge you to just be yourself and start making the changes now and don't wait for the new year:)
